Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 17-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for patients with diagnoses including hips, knees, shoulders, and spine conditions
• Read and interpret telemetry rhythms using portable telemetry boxes as needed; completion of a dysrhythmia exam will be required
• Collaborate with a clinical supervisor (no patient assignment) who provides break relief, and coordinate with one nurse aide per 8-hour day shift
• Float as needed to telemetry (1:4 ratio) or other medical surgical floors within the facility
• Participate in weekend rotation, with an expected 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, and integrate into the permanent staff holiday rotation
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Medical Surgical or Orthopedic nursing
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms/dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating to telemetry units
• Familiarity with orthopedic patient populations including post-surgical hip, knee, shoulder, and spine cases
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, with only 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
