Residential Field Service | Day Shift Overview

A confidential client is hiring an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and premium/built-in appliances in a field-service environment. This is a hands-on role for a technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics (not just parts swapping), clean workmanship, and professional customer communication.

Required Skills (including pay + shift)

• Pay Range: $18–$20/hour, depending on experience
• Shift/Hours: Day shift — hours vary (most commonly 8:00 AM–7:00 PM); ability to work various hours as needed
• Employment Type: Temp-to-perm (40 hours/week target; part-time may be considered if the schedule is consistent)

Essential technical skills & qualifications

• Strong sealed-system repair capability, including:
  • Leak detection
  • Refrigerant recovery & evacuation
  • Deep vacuum procedures / micron-gauge best practices
  • Weighed refrigerant charging
  • Nitrogen pressure testing / purging
  • Brazing
• Refrigeration knowledge and safe handling practices with R600a, R134a, R290, and R404A
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills:
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Use meters to test/verify faulty components before replacement
• Proven field-service professionalism:
  • Clear documentation (model/serial, fault codes, measurements, parts needed, completed work)
  • Before/after job photos
  • Protect customer property and maintain clean workmanship
  • Route management and an organized work vehicle
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history (role involves travel between service calls)

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience servicing premium / built-in appliances
• Experience with light-commercial appliances
• Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic modes, fault codes, and technical-support platforms/tools

Preferred Education and Experience

• 3+ years of professional appliance repair experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated strength in:
  • High-end/built-in appliance repair
  • Sealed-system diagnostics and repair
  • Washer/dryer expertise
  • Customer-facing communication and accountability

Other Requirements

• EPA Section 608 certification (preferred; may be required depending on the work performed)
• Ability to pass background and drug screening, if required
• Comfort working in residential environments while maintaining a professional appearance and protecting finishes/floors/cabinetry
