Traveling CDL Class A Driver / Crane Operator

Job description:

Location: Texas (Dispatch from San Marcos, TX; candidates should live within a few hours' driving distance)

Pay Range: $30–$35/hour
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Duration: Not specified
Travel: 75–100% (up to 5-6 weeks at a time)
Per Diem: $125/day

Key Qualifications

• Current Class A CDL license.
• Recent Class A CDL driving experience.
• Minimum 5-year clean driving record and clean MVR.
• Clean background check and drug screen.
• NCCCO Crane Certification preferred but not required.
• Experience operating cranes, boom trucks, or similar heavy equipment preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to travel extensively for assignments lasting up to six weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 25-ton Load King boom truck mounted on a 2022 Freightliner.
• Transport and deliver loads while complying with federal, state, and company safety regulations.
• Operate cranes smoothly and safely to prevent equipment damage and excessive wear.
• Perform crane inspections at the beginning of each shift and maintain accurate inspection logs.
• Lubricate crane and grapple components as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with identifying potential mechanical problems.
• Maintain a clean and organized crane control room and work area.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
• Provide professional customer service and coordinate with warehouse personnel.
• Train other employees on crane operation when necessary.
• Operate additional equipment, including industrial forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and other mobile equipment.

• Assignments may last up to six consecutive weeks.
