Payroll Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to manage our high-volume, multi-state payroll operations. In this role, you will serve as the primary payroll contact, ensuring accurate data management, resolving discrepancies, and consistently meeting critical weekly deadlines. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong communication skills to support both clients and internal employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Manage and execute high-volume, multi-state payroll accurately and on time.
• Data Management: Handle, audit, and reconcile large volumes of payroll data originating from multiple software sources.
• Client & Employee Support: Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries, professionally resolving discrepancies and answering questions.
• Reporting & Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel functions to manipulate data, generate reports, and streamline payroll workflows.
• Compliance: Ensure all payroll processing aligns with federal, state, and local multi-state regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

• Experience: 2+ years of dedicated payroll experience handling high-volume, multi-state processing.
• Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables to manage complex data sets.
• Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record of meeting strict weekly deadlines.
• Communication: Excellent client service and communication skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.

Preferred (High Priority):

• Software: Experience with impACT and/or Worklio is highly preferred.
• Industry Background: Prior experience within the staffing, Employer of Record (EOR), or PEO industries.
• Bonus: Experience using Claude Cowork is a strong plus.
