Director of Nursing DON

Location: Bronx, NY 10456
Compensation: Up to $160,000 Annually

A well-established Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in the Bronx is seeking an accomplished Director of Nursing (DON) to lead its nursing department and oversee all aspects of clinical operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursing leader with a proven track record in New York long-term care facilities. We are looking for a results-driven DON who can lead clinical teams, maintain strong regulatory compliance, improve resident care outcomes, and foster a positive and accountable nursing environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a New York nursing home, a strong history of successful regulatory surveys, and the leadership skills necessary to drive departmental performance.

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing department operations.

• Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centered resident care.

• Lead, develop, and hold nursing managers, supervisors, and clinical staff accountable.

• Oversee clinical outcomes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective action plans.

• Maintain survey readiness and lead the nursing department through NYS Department of Health surveys and inspections.

• Ensure compliance with New York State regulations, federal requirements, and professional nursing standards.

• Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and clinical training programs.

• Monitor incidents, complaints, clinical trends, and quality assurance initiatives.

• Partner with facility administration, physicians, residents, and families to address clinical concerns.

• Oversee nursing recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and retention.

• Establish measurable departmental goals and work with facility leadership to achieve operational and clinical objectives.

• Active New York State RN license required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in a New York nursing home.

• Proven leadership experience overseeing nursing operations in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting.

• Strong knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations and nursing home survey requirements.

• Demonstrated history of maintaining regulatory compliance and achieving successful survey results.

• Strong clinical leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to lead, motivate, and hold multidisciplinary nursing teams accountable.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Salary up to $160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
