A confidential healthcare employer in California’s Eastern Sierra is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to provide inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care during a 26-week assignment.

Earn $4,320 gross per week at 36 guaranteed hours, with furnished housing options potentially available for a monthly rental charge.

Pay and Assignment Details

• Pay: $120 per hour

• Guaranteed weekly gross: $4,320

• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week

• Contract length: 26 weeks

• Start date: To be confirmed

• Schedule: Full-time, with required on-call coverage including nights and weekends

• Holiday coverage: Required

• Location: Mammoth Lakes, with potential clinic coverage in Bishop

• EMR: Cerner

• Openings: 1

On-call, callback, overtime, and holiday compensation terms will be confirmed before an offer is accepted.

What You’ll Do

Work under the direction of attending physicians to support comprehensive orthopedic care, including:

• Managing routine inpatient care, ordering diagnostic tests, labs, imaging, medications within scope, and nutrition

• Participating in multidisciplinary rounds and communicating treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families

• Coordinating discharge planning, follow-up care, supportive therapies, and patient education

• Performing bedside histories and physical examinations as needed

• Assessing emergency conditions and initiating appropriate care in collaboration with the attending physician

• Serving as first or second assistant in the operating room, including surgical exposure, dissection, layered wound closure, dressings, and immobilization

• Sharing surgical first-assist call responsibilities, including rotating holiday and high-volume coverage

Qualifications

• Current California Physician Assistant license

• Current DEA registration

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

• At least three years of experience encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and a compassionate approach to patient care

Furnished Housing Options

Furnished studios and one-bedroom apartments may be available, subject to availability and a monthly rental charge that varies by unit size.

Each apartment includes a private bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette, furnishings, Wi-Fi, and cable. Shared recreational amenities include a common lounge, games, and a fitness room. Rental pricing and availability will be confirmed during recruitment.
