Modern Equipment With Scheduled Time at Home

LEM Trucking is recruiting an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver in Chesapeake, Virginia, for a position offering newer equipment, primarily no-touch freight, and planned home time every other week.

Drivers average $1,250 to $1,550 weekly while operating late-model Peterbilt 579 and Kenworth T680 tractors. The schedule includes two full days at home following each two-week driving cycle.

What Your Work Schedule Looks Like

Drivers remain on the road during their assigned work cycle before returning home for two complete days. This arrangement provides scheduled breaks while allowing drivers to remain productive between home-time periods.

A Class A CDL Truck Driver should be comfortable with longer trips and spending consecutive nights away from home.

Pay and Position Highlights

  • Average weekly earnings of $1,250 to $1,550

  • Guaranteed weekly paycheck for qualified drivers

  • Two full days at home every other week

  • Primarily no-touch freight with drop-and-hook opportunities

  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and vacation pay

The weekly pay guarantee provides additional income stability when freight volume or available mileage changes. Specific guarantee amounts, eligibility requirements, and compensation details are reviewed during the interview.

Freight and Truck Features

Loads consist primarily of no-touch freight, including drop-and-hook assignments and scheduled live loading or unloading appointments.

Each Class A CDL Truck Driver operates a late-model Peterbilt 579 or Kenworth T680 equipped with an APU, power inverter, and refrigerator. These features provide additional convenience for drivers spending extended periods away from home.

New drivers complete approximately three days of paid orientation, with qualifying expenses covered by the company.

Class A CDL Truck Driver Qualifications

Applicants must possess a valid Class A CDL and have at least two years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience.

Candidates must meet applicable DOT and company safety requirements and demonstrate the ability to operate safely throughout extended driving assignments.

LEM Trucking is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
