Back Porch Wine & Spirits is a locally operated specialty wine and spirits store looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Retail Sales Associate to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and has an interest in wine, spirits, beer, and specialty beverages. Previous wine and spirits knowledge is a plus, but we are also willing to train the right person who is eager to learn.

Unlike a typical retail position, you will have the opportunity to expand your product knowledge, learn about wines and spirits from around the world, build relationships with regular customers, and grow with our business.

What You'll Do

• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and help customers select the right wines, spirits, and other products.
• Learn our wine and spirits portfolio and make recommendations based on customer preferences, occasions, and budgets.
• Build relationships with new and returning customers.
• Operate the POS system and accurately process customer transactions.
• Stock and replenish wine, spirits, beer, and other merchandise.
• Receive and organize incoming inventory.
• Maintain attractive displays, shelves, end caps, and promotional areas.
• Keep the sales floor, stockroom, and other store areas clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory counts and general store operations.
• Follow all Washington State alcohol sales and age-verification requirements.
• Occasionally assist with local customer deliveries.
• Help us continue growing the store by providing the personal service customers expect from a specialty retailer.

What We're Looking For

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Friendly and comfortable speaking with customers.
• Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Genuine interest in learning about wine and spirits.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
• Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Able to regularly lift and move cases weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must obtain a Washington State MAST Class 12 Permit if not already certified.
• Wine, spirits, beer, restaurant, hospitality, or retail experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $19.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
