We’re seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a DC Government agency with personnel action processing, HR audits, data integrity, and compliance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional who understands federal personnel processing and enjoys ensuring HR data and actions are accurate, timely, and compliant.

What You’ll Do

  • Process a broad range of federal personnel actions, including accessions, promotions, reassignments, separations, and pay changes.
  • Enter, review, and validate personnel data using systems such as FPPS, QuickTime, e-OPF, and USA Staffing.
  • Conduct pre- and post-action audits of personnel and payroll records to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Research personnel histories, regulations, and system data to resolve processing and data-integrity issues.
  • Prepare HR reports, status updates, briefings, and documentation for HR leadership.
  • Provide technical guidance and occasional training to HR staff regarding personnel processing, payroll procedures, and HR systems.
  • Support HR data projects and help identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Coordinate with HR, payroll, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in Federal HR personnel processing, HR operations, or HR compliance.

  • Experience with FPPS or a comparable federal personnel/payroll system strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting established deadlines.

This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact supporting HR operations, compliance, and data accuracy within a DC Government agency—while enjoying a hybrid work environment and competitive contract compensation.
