This position is responsible for cleaning all guest rooms at The Hotel Hershey.

Job Duties:

• Ensure that high levels of cleanliness are maintained

• Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, making them feel welcome while staying with us

• Maintain all items in good repair 

• Clean assigned guest rooms to brand quality standards within allocated timeframes.

• Change bed linens, make beds (including sofa beds and pack n plays as requested), and replenish towels and bathroom amenities.

• Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, sweep/mop floors, and sanitize all high-touch surfaces.

• Handle guest personal items such as clothing, jewelry, shoes, electronics, and hygiene items

• Replenish linens and supplies 

• Report any missing items or damage 

• Mark and turn in all lost/found items 

• Report maintenance deficiencies via job related software

• Update room status via job related software

• Stock, organize, and maintain cleaning carts and floor linen closets in a neat, orderly manner. 

• Report unsafe conditions

• Make up cots, pack ‘n plays, and sofa beds as requested

• Remove room service items and store them in a designated location

• Assist with cleaning and maintaining public resort areas, including public restrooms, hallways, and lobbies. 

• Performing other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

• This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Friendly guest service attitude, well-groomed and professional appearance, and self-confidence. 

• Self-motivated and capable of working alone. 

• Ability to clean 14 rooms within a specified period of time and to operate a vacuum cleaner. 

• Ability to speak, read, and understand English. 

• Must have the visual ability to meet our very high cleaning standards. 

• Must be able to use a smartphone or tablet to communicate, answer calls, and navigate job-related software. 

• Adhere to guest privacy protocols

Job Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Normal working hours will be primarily 1st shift, but may include any shifts depending on operational need. Working weekends and holidays is a requirement of the job.

• Proper footwear to be provided by employee. 

• Chemicals located in and around the workplace. 

• Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on your feet for the entirety of the shift, excluding scheduled rest breaks. 

• Visual ability to determine degree of cleanliness and ability to lift 25 lbs. 

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, handling, stooping, reaching, lifting and repetitive motions. 

• This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
