Professional Development Trainer, Teacher Workshops

Some teachers end up running the workshop at every staff meeting, whether anyone asked them to or not. If that sounds like you, and you live in or near Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Hilliard, or Grove City, we'd like to talk.

Our trainers run classroom management workshops for K-12 teachers and school staff. A workshop might fill a full day or half of one, at the school or online. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness started in 1993, and since then more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states have been through our training.

You'd be a 1099 independent contractor. We can't guarantee hours, and the number of workshops you lead will rise and fall from year to year. Most training days pay $1,000 or more, and pay goes out each Friday.

Schools usually book because a trainer reached out to them first. Certification shows you how to do that outreach, and when a school is ready, your National Director drafts the contract and works out the terms. Nobody owns a territory, so you can lead workshops in your own district, across Ohio, or in any other state.

Your first step is our Weekend Certification, held online over two weekends: three days and 36 hours in all. UMass Global grants 4 graduate credits for it. You also get an orientation, every workshop's materials, and support that continues once you're certified.

Current and former K-12 teachers fit well here, and so do coaches, counselors, and principals. Most of our trainers still work in schools, so they schedule workshops for evenings, weekends, personal days, and summer break. Students can apply if they plan to finish certification.
