About this job
Job Description
Years in classrooms and front offices teach things no textbook covers. If you've built that kind of experience and live near Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, or Midwest City, this role puts it to work training other K-12 educators.
Our trainers teach classroom management to K-12 teachers and staff, in person at schools or online. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has been training educators since 1993, more than 400,000 of them in all 50 states.
You'd work as a 1099 independent contractor. Hours are not guaranteed, and some years bring more trainings than others. A typical training day pays $1,000 or more, with pay sent every Friday.
Most trainings grow out of contacts you make with schools, using the outreach approach from certification. Once a school is on board, your National Director writes the contract and negotiates the details. We don't assign territories, so you can train close to home or anywhere in the United States.
Experienced or not, everyone completes the virtual Weekend Certification first. It's 36 hours over three days on two weekends, and it can count for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global. Orientation, training materials, and ongoing support come with it.
Current and former K-12 teachers, coaches, counselors, and principals are all a good match, including educators who have retired. Most of our trainers are still working and train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers. Students may apply too if they plan to complete certification.
