Floor Care Technician

Providence Staffing's client is seeking an experienced and dependable Floor Care Technician to join their team in Columbus, GA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with commercial floor care, including floor buffing and waxing, and will take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and professional facilities.

This position involves working in areas accessible to the public, so candidates should demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and excellent customer service while performing their duties.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform routine and specialized floor care throughout the facility.
• Strip, wax, buff, and polish floors according to established procedures.
• Operate commercial floor buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and other floor-care equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain various flooring surfaces.
• Apply floor finishes, sealers, waxes, and other floor-care products safely and correctly.
• Identify areas requiring additional floor maintenance and address them promptly.
• Move furniture and equipment as necessary to complete floor-care assignments.
• Maintain and properly clean floor-care equipment after use.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and handling chemicals.
• Place appropriate signage and barriers around work areas to protect employees, visitors, and the public.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, and members of the public.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to management.
• Assist with general custodial duties and special cleaning projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous professional floor-care experience is required.
• Must have experience buffing and waxing commercial floors.
• Experience stripping, refinishing, polishing, and maintaining various floor surfaces strongly preferred.
• Ability to safely operate commercial buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and related floor-care equipment.
• Knowledge of proper floor-care chemicals, finishes, and safety procedures.
• Customer service skills are preferred, as this position regularly works in areas accessible to the public.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a strong attendance record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Compensation

Pay: $15.00 per hour

• 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift
