We are seeking a high-performing Law Clerk with Personal Injury experience, specifically supporting Minor’s Compromise matters, to join our growing team.

Position Overview

This role is critical to ensuring the timely and accurate handling of Minor’s Compromise petitions and court filings. You will work closely with attorneys, case managers, and leadership in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where precision and accountability are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare draft minor’s compromise petitions using Judicial Council Form MC-350 and related forms, including attachments, declarations, proposed orders, and blocked-account documents, under attorney supervision.
• Gather and organize medical records, bills, lien information, settlement documents, and attorney fees and cost breakdowns.
• Track case-specific filing requirements and verify venue and local court procedures with the assigned attorney.
• Coordinate attorney review, revisions, and required signatures from attorneys, parents, or guardians ad litem.
• Submit attorney-approved court filings, including e-filings, and confirm acceptance and hearing dates.
• Calendar hearings, deadlines, and follow-up dates in Litify.
• Coordinate attorney coverage and client attendance, provide hearing instructions, and assist with attorney-approved requests to excuse appearances.
• Monitor tentative rulings and court notices, and alert attorneys to deficiencies or additional filing requirements.
• Obtain signed court orders and coordinate settlement payment requests with insurance carriers and defense representatives.
• Assist families with court-ordered blocked accounts, coordinate bank visits when needed, and track deposit receipts and required filings.
• Work with attorneys and accounting to coordinate disbursements consistent with court orders.
• Maintain accurate case notes and status trackers, communicate updates to clients and internal teams, and assist with related departmental projects.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience in a Personal Injury law firm
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Minor’s Compromise (MC-350)
• Strong understanding of California PI procedures and court processes
• Experience supporting litigation or pre-litigation case handling
• Prior Law Clerk or Paralegal experience preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• High school diploma required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
