Position Overview

The Medical Director (PART TIME)

The position involves collaboration with executive leadership, nursing professionals, counselors, and behavioral health specialists to promote effective patient care and recovery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight of inpatient addiction treatment programs.

• Supervise medical services and ensure quality patient care.

• Guide multidisciplinary clinical and healthcare teams.

• Oversee evidence-based addiction treatment practices.

• Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

• Oversee detoxification and withdrawal management services.

• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

• Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical professionals.

• Contribute to clinical strategy and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.

• Current, unrestricted New York State medical license or ability to obtain licensure before employment.

• Board certification in Addiction Medicine, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, or another relevant specialty.

• Current DEA registration and authorization to prescribe controlled substances.

• Minimum five years of progressive clinical experience.

• Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or related healthcare settings.

• Demonstrated healthcare leadership and clinical team management experience.

• Knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment, MAT, detoxification, and withdrawal management.

• Understanding of OASAS, New York State Department of Health, DEA, HIPAA, and accreditation requirements.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
