Machine Operator (Packer)

Cenveo, a leading North American envelope manufacturer, is hiring 2nd & 3rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our Chicago, IL facility. Responsible for packaging finished envelopes, inspecting products for quality, and preparing orders for shipment. Works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following safety and production standards.

Pay & Schedule

• Hourly Rate: $18/hr + applicable shift premium
• 2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm / Shift Premium $1/hr
• 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am / Shift Premium $2/hr
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; Saturdays required during peak production or as business needs dictate.

What You'll Do

• Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed/web envelope folding machines; pack finished product.
• Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.
• Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.
• May be required to complete rework
• Cleans up work area during/end of shift.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

Job Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment.
• Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler.
• Basic math, verbal/written communication, computer skills
• Detail‐oriented, safety‐focused, and reliable
• Consistent attendance and dependability are critical for this role

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, bending, climbing, and reaching
• Lift up to 55 lbs; manual dexterity required
• Work around noise, machinery, inks, solvents, and glue
• Ability to work in hot or cold conditions and stay alert around equipment
• Able to keep pace with high‐speed production for a full shift
