Human Resources Director (Manufacturing)

An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced HR Director to lead and oversee all human resources functions across multiple affiliated companies. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting both office and manufacturing employees.

Responsibilities:

• Lead HR strategy, policies, procedures, and employee handbook development.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Oversee full-cycle recruiting, hiring, and onboarding.
• Manage benefits administration, workers’ compensation, leave programs, and HR records.
• Partner with operations on workplace safety, OSHA compliance, and employee training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, Maryland, and Pennsylvania employment laws.
• Support compensation planning, performance reviews, and payroll coordination.
• Track HR metrics and provide guidance to ownership, management, and supervisors.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
• Strong employee relations, investigation, and workers’ compensation experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
• Experience as a standalone HR professional or building HR processes from the ground up is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and interacting with employees at all levels.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ideal Candidate: A proactive, hands-on HR professional who can independently manage all aspects of HR while building effective processes and serving as a trusted partner to leadership and employees.

Experience in Group Life and Health more specifically in medical stop loss highly preferred.
