Production Forklift Operator

Location: 14 1⁄2 Mile Road & Mound Road, Sterling Heights, MI

Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM
• 3rd Shift Premium: Additional $1.50 per hour ($19.00/hour total starting pay)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking dependable, safety-conscious Production Forklift Operators to join our manufacturing team. This position plays an important role in supporting daily production operations by safely transporting materials, keeping production lines supplied, and moving finished goods to designated staging and storage areas.

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A strong commitment to workplace safety, teamwork, and maintaining an efficient production workflow is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Deliver materials to production lines to support continuous workflow and minimize production delays.
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials in designated production and storage areas.
• Remove completed products from production lines and transport them to assigned staging or storage locations.
• Confirm material identification, quantities, and proper placement as needed.
• Follow production schedules and established material handling procedures.
• Perform routine forklift inspections and promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, forklift operating procedures, and applicable OSHA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production staff, and fellow team members.
• Assist with additional production and material handling duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous forklift operating experience is preferred.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of surrounding activities and potential hazards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when production demands require.
• Commitment to following workplace safety standards and proper forklift operating procedures.
• Must successfully pass a national background check as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule

Candidates may be considered for either of the following shifts:

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM.
• 3rd Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM.
• 3rd Shift Premium: Additional $1.50 per hour, bringing the starting rate to $19.00 per hour.
• Overtime: May be required based on production requirements.
• Weekend Availability: May be necessary to support production demands.

Compensation & Benefits

• 1st Shift Starting Wage: $17.50 per hour.
• 3rd Shift Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour, including a $1.50/hour shift premium.
• Employment: Full-Time, Union Position.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): Available after 90 days of employment.
• Medical Insurance: Available after 90 days of employment.
• Dental Insurance: Available after 90 days of employment.
• Vision Insurance: Available after 90 days of employment.

Benefit eligibility, coverage, shift premium eligibility, and other terms of employment are subject to company policies and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

This position operates within an active manufacturing and production facility. Employees will work around industrial equipment, production materials, and moving forklifts.
