About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Vendor Management to oversee and optimize our vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement strategies. This is a senior-level, in-office position requiring a strategic thinker with deep operational experience and the ability to assess, navigate, and consolidate technology platforms across a multi-department organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end vendor lifecycle management including sourcing, onboarding, performance monitoring, and contract renewals
- Negotiate vendor contracts, SLAs, and pricing to drive cost efficiency and service quality
- Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships while holding partners accountable to agreed deliverables
- Develop and enforce vendor management policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Conduct a thorough audit of all software and technology platforms currently in use across departments
- Develop a clear understanding of each platform's function, cost, and scale of use per department
- Identify redundancies and opportunities to consolidate vendors and platforms without disrupting operations
- Lead platform consolidation initiatives in partnership with department heads and IT
- Manage software vendor relationships through transitions and renegotiations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and Operations to align vendor strategy with business goals
- Analyze vendor performance data and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Identify and mitigate vendor-related risks proactively
Requirements
- 10-15 years of vendor management, procurement, or supply chain experience
- Proven track record negotiating and managing complex vendor contracts
- Demonstrated experience working across multi-platform environments spanning multiple departments
- Ability to evaluate, compare, and consolidate software tools to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Comfortable navigating platforms of varying complexity and scale
- Strong analytical and financial acumen
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with CRM and vendor management platforms
- Must be based in or willing to commute to our NY or NJ office
Location: New York, NY or New Jersey (Office-Based)
Pay Range
$130,000—$175,000 USD
