About the Opportunity

The Midtown Group is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics operations in Manassas, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their logistics or supply chain career who wants to gain experience with domestic and international shipping, inventory management, transportation coordination, and ERP systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, inventory management, transportation support, or supply chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments
• Support domestic and international shipping activities
• Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and vendors
• Process shipping, receiving, inventory, and transportation documentation
• Work with carriers, freight providers, couriers, and logistics partners
• Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records
• Perform receiving, packing, labeling, shipping, and material handling activities
• Research and resolve shipping or inventory discrepancies
• Enter shipment and inventory information into ERP and inventory systems
• Support inventory counts, audits, and material tracking
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures
• Assist with warehouse and logistics projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, transportation support, supply chain, or a related field
• Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with inventory tracking, shipping records, or logistics documentation
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating shipments or deliveries
• Experience using ERP, inventory management, warehouse management, or transportation management systems
• Exposure to international shipping, import/export, or freight forwarding processes
• Experience working with shipping carriers such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, or freight providers
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing lists, or inventory records
• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, data center, or logistics environment
• SAP experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform shipping, receiving, packing, and warehouse activities throughout the workday
• Ability to comply with all workplace safety requirements
