Job Title: Cleaner Data Center Construction Site

Job Description

This role focuses on performing detailed final cleaning for a new data center under construction, ensuring all areas meet strict cleanliness standards before handover. You will clean and sanitize server racks and facility spaces, often working at heights, and support a safe, organized, and professional construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform final cleaning of the data center facility, including server rooms and surrounding areas, to meet project standards.
• Wipe down server racks, equipment surfaces, and related structures to remove dust, debris, and residue.
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walls, and other surfaces throughout the facility.
• Use ladders to work at heights up to approximately 8 feet to dust servers, wires, and overhead areas using broom dusters and similar tools.
• Follow all site safety procedures while working at heights and around construction activities.
• Operate or work around scissor lifts or boom lifts when required and if properly certified.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly store cleaning tools and equipment after use.
• Use cleaning and sanitizing products safely and in accordance with instructions and site guidelines.
• Support cleanliness and housekeeping standards on a commercial or industrial construction site.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and on-site personnel to coordinate tasks and resolve issues related to cleaning and access.

Essential Skills

• Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Experience with general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces.
• Comfort working at heights, including standing on ladders up to approximately 8 feet.
• Ability to perform housekeeping and sanitizing duties in an active construction setting.
• Familiarity with construction site environments and related safety expectations.
• Experience working around or with scissor lifts or boom lifts.
• Lift certification for scissor or boom lifts, or the ability to obtain it if required.
• Reliability in following schedules and completing assigned cleaning tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure thorough final cleaning of sensitive equipment areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Janitorial or sanitation experience in commercial, industrial, or similar settings.
• Customer service experience involving direct customer interaction.
• Experience using buffers or other specialized cleaning equipment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with site personnel.
• Willingness to work on long-term projects and potentially transition to other data center sites in the area.

Work Environment

This position is based on a data center construction site in the Amarillo area or nearby locations. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work in an active commercial or industrial construction environment, which includes exposure to dust, noise, and ongoing construction activities. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and working on ladders up to approximately 8 feet, as well as working around scissor or boom lifts. The dress code requires jeans and steel-toe boots; all other personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, or gloves, will be provided on site. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of cleaning tools and equipment, and adherence to construction-site protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
