WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Operate and maintain railroad Maintenance of Way equipment

* Perform daily pre-trip inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

* Read and follow work plans, job briefings, and operating instructions.

* Identify track defects, roadway hazards, and unsafe conditions and report findings to supervisors.

* Assist in maintaining compliance with FRA regulations, company standards, and engineering instructions.

* Work safely around moving equipment, railroad operations, and roadway workers.

* Coordinate with track laborers, foremen, and engineering supervisors to complete projects efficiently.

* Maintain accurate equipment inspection and maintenance records.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

* Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, cranes, or railroad maintenance equipment.

* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshooting.

* Ability to read gauges, operating manuals, work orders, and safety instructions.

* Understanding of railroad track components and track maintenance practices preferred.

* Valid Driver's License required.

* CDL Class A or ability to obtain one required.

* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
