Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Hays, KS | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Expected 36–48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Step-Down unit with patient ratios of 1:4–5
• Perform IV starts and other clinical skills within RN scope of practice
• Participate in weekend rotation as required by the facility
• Float to other units within scope of practice to support staffing needs as directed
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic health records system
• Expect to work some holidays as part of the standard assignment schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, with demonstrated IV start competency
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Meditech charting experience required
• Must reside more than 45 miles from the facility to be eligible
• All requests for time off must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment; no block scheduling greater than 3–4 consecutive shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, Step-Down, or Intermediate Care setting
• Familiarity with Level 3 Trauma acute care environments
• Flexibility and adaptability to variable scheduling and unit float assignments
