Special Education Paraprofessional Needed | Middletown, RI

ProCare Therapy is partnering with a school district in Middletown, RI to hire a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026/2027 school year. Position Overview

• Schedule: Full-Time | 31.25 hours/week | 8:15am-3pm M-F
• Caseload: PreK & Elementary assisting in a classroom setting
• Dates: ASAP - June 18, 2027
• Additional caseload and assignment details will be discussed during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students receiving special education services.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities.
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals.
• Implement accommodations and strategies outlined in student IEPs.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student success.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with developmental disabilities and Autism in behavior classroom settings
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must hold an active Rhode Island Teacher Assistant (TA) Certification or be eligible to obtain one before starting the assignment.
• Assignment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining an active Rhode Island TA/Paraprofessional Certification.
• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
