Job Description
Residential Field Service Technician - Tyler, TX
Ready for a hands-on career in the utility industry? PDS Tech Commercial is hiring Residential Field Service Technicians to support a long-term utility project in the Tyler area. No prior gas utility experience is required. We provide paid training, industry certifications, and the opportunity to gain experience in a stable, essential industry.
Pay: $22.00/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift (5x8s) with overtime as needed
Project: Long-term opportunity
IMPORTANT TRAINING REQUIREMENT
Paid 6-week training program in Houston, TX
Full attendance is mandatory throughout training
Successful completion of training is required before starting field assignments in Tyler
What You'll Do
Remove and install residential gas meters and regulators
Perform gas leak testing using company-provided equipment
Identify and repair gas leaks and abnormal operating conditions
Safely shut down and relight gas appliances
Collect and document installation data using a handheld device
Communicate professionally with utility customers
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity
What We're Looking For
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check, MVR review, and DOT PHMSA-compliant drug screen
Ability to work outdoors up to 10 hours per day in varying weather conditions
Comfortable using hand tools and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in natural gas field service or meter installation
Familiarity with gas appliance safety and operation
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Experience using handheld devices and basic software tools

Pay Details: $22.00 per hour
