Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Rehabilitation to join our team at Absolut Care of Aurora Park in East Aurora, NY. As a key member of our leadership team, the Director of Rehabilitation will be responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation department, developing and implementing effective treatment plans, and ensuring exceptional patient care. Responsibilities:

• Oversee Rehabilitation Department: Direct and manage the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, including staff supervision, training, and development.

• Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

• Ensure Exceptional Patient Care: Foster a culture of empathy and compassion, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care that exceeds their expectations.

• Recruitment and Retention: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent in the rehabilitation field.

• Compliance and Quality Improvement: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and department performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate from an accredited program for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech/Language Pathology.

• Licensed Therapist in good standing. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a therapist in a long-term care skilled facility.

• Valid NYS Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Speech/Language license.

• Displays optimism, fostering a spirit of teamwork, positive attitude, and conflict resolution among co-workers.

• Utilizes conflict-management skills to move toward resolution of interpersonal challenges that affect the work environment negatively.

• Demonstrates ability to coordinate activities in conjunction with other departments to ensure patients/residents feel safe and empowered; interacts positively with family members, updating them on how the patient/resident is progressing in therapy.

• Exhibits and strives for a commitment to excellence by performing duties with measured accuracy and timeliness.

• Displays ability to problem-solve quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Promptly reports all needs and concerns to the Administrator.

• Illustrates excellent customer service and support to all members of the interdisciplinary team and assists as needed to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors.

• Accepts constructive criticism and direction while administering the same to subordinates.

• Provides direction for surrounding staff members, assisting them to perform their workload independently, and acting as a role model relative to professionalism, attitude, communication, and personal presentation.
