The Opportunity
A growing manufacturer in northern Indiana is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who can hit the ground running with hands-on process improvement, problem-solving, and continuous improvement work.
This is an individual contributor role focused on process and manufacturing engineering. The company starts with raw materials and converts them through multiple process steps into finished products. They are seeking someone with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills who works well with others but does not need a team around them to be effective.
What You'll Do
- Improve production processes using Lean and continuous improvement tools.
- Solve process and manufacturing problems with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Support process changes, new product introduction, and documentation in a collaborative environment.
- Apply critical thinking to root-cause issues and drive measurable improvements on the floor.
- Work with automation and digital tools as the operation continues to scale.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering or process engineering experience preferred (strong candidates with less will be considered).
- Experience in a material conversion manufacturing environment (examples: rubber, plastics, or similar operations that turn raw materials into finished products through multiple process steps).
- Hands-on Lean / continuous improvement experience and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Preferred degree backgrounds: Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering.
Why This Role
The operation is in a growth phase and is focused on improving processes while scaling. This is a chance to own meaningful process work as an individual contributor in a practical manufacturing environment.
