We represent industry-leading manufacturers, including Jacobsen, Cushman, Bobcat, Trimax, Smithco, Redexim, and Husqvarna.

As we continue to expand our operations and transition into our new Plant City facility, we're looking for a motivated, organized, and results-driven Rental Manager to lead and grow our equipment rental business.

Position Overview

The Rental Manager will oversee all aspects of Global Turf Equipment's rental operations, including fleet management, customer relationships, rental sales, equipment utilization, pricing, logistics, and profitability.

This position requires someone who can balance sales and customer service with operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the rental business, identify opportunities to increase revenue, and ensure our equipment is properly maintained, available, and generating a strong return on investment.

The Rental Manager will work closely with our Sales, Service, Parts, and Logistics teams to deliver a seamless rental experience while maximizing fleet performance.

Key Responsibilities

Rental Sales & Business Development

• Manage inbound rental inquiries and provide timely quotations to prospective customers.

• Proactively develop new rental opportunities with golf courses, municipalities, sports facilities, landscape contractors, and commercial properties.

• Build and maintain relationships with existing rental customers to generate repeat business.

• Work closely with territory sales representatives to identify rental opportunities within their markets.

• Develop rental solutions for seasonal equipment needs, special projects, renovations, and temporary equipment requirements.

• Identify opportunities to convert rental customers into equipment purchases.

• Establish competitive rental pricing while maintaining appropriate profitability.

• Follow up on outstanding quotations and maintain an active rental sales pipeline.

Rental Fleet Management

• Maintain accurate records of all rental equipment, including availability, location, condition, operating hours, and rental history.

• Monitor fleet utilization to maximize revenue-producing days.

• Identify underutilized equipment and recommend strategies to improve utilization or dispose of assets.

• Evaluate opportunities to expand the rental fleet based on customer demand and expected financial returns.

• Coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs with the Service Department.

• Ensure equipment is properly prepared and inspected before delivery and upon return.

• Monitor equipment condition and address damage, excessive wear, or maintenance concerns.

• Recommend equipment replacement, retirement, or conversion to used equipment inventory when appropriate.

Rental Operations & Logistics

• Manage the rental process from initial inquiry through quotation, contract execution, delivery, pickup, and final billing.

• Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups with the Logistics team.

• Maintain an accurate rental calendar to prevent scheduling conflicts and maximize fleet availability.

• Ensure rental agreements, insurance requirements, and customer documentation are properly completed.

• Track rental start dates, return dates, extensions, and equipment availability.

• Coordinate with customers regarding rental extensions, equipment exchanges, and service needs.

• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for rental charges, transportation, damages, and additional fees.

• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Financial Performance & Reporting

• Take ownership of rental revenue, gross profit, and overall fleet profitability.

• Monitor fleet utilization, rental rates, and revenue generated per asset.

• Track equipment acquisition costs, maintenance expenses, and return on investment.

• Develop monthly rental performance reports for management.

• Identify opportunities to improve pricing, reduce downtime, and increase profitability.

• Support annual rental fleet budgeting and capital investment decisions.

• Establish performance targets and track progress against revenue and utilization goals.

Cross-Department Coordination

• Collaborate with the Sales team to support rental opportunities and customer relationships.

• Work with the Shop Manager and Service Department to prioritize rental equipment maintenance and readiness.

• Coordinate with Parts and Inventory to ensure equipment availability and timely repairs.

• Partner with Logistics to optimize transportation scheduling and minimize delivery costs.

• Communicate equipment availability and rental opportunities to territory sales representatives.

• Support the company's used equipment sales strategy by identifying rental fleet assets suitable for resale.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience in equipment rentals, equipment sales, fleet management, or a related operational role.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple equipment rentals, schedules, and customer requests simultaneously.

• Strong understanding of pricing, profitability, and basic financial reporting.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and business management software.

• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take ownership of results.

• Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

• Experience in commercial equipment rentals, golf course equipment, agricultural equipment, or construction equipment.

• Familiarity with turf maintenance equipment and golf course operations.

• Experience managing rental fleet utilization and profitability.

• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and service requirements.

• Experience with rental management software, CRM systems, or inventory management platforms.

• Existing relationships within the Florida golf, turf, or commercial equipment industries.
