Dermatology Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to support a specialty clinic’s multi-provider team and report to the Office Manager. This role will manage provider schedules, coordinate routine appointments, and help maintain an efficient, patient-centered experience in a high-volume setting while supporting patient access improvement and billing workflow initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and manage check-in and check-out processes.
• Register patients and maintain accurate medical records.
• Schedule routine appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Manage provider calendars and support high-volume patient flow.
• Verify insurance information and process payments.
• Provide phone support and communicate effectively with patients.
• Support billing workflow and patient access improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in medical reception.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance.
• Strong telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
