Deli Manager

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach and develop a team of deli employees.
• Bring new ideas to the department and look for ways to improve our products, displays and overall customer experience.
• Oversee daily operations, food preparation, production and merchandising.
• Develop appealing food offerings and keep the department fresh, full and inviting.
• Manage inventory, ordering, product rotation and food costs.
• Create employee schedules and manage labor efficiently.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, product quality and FIFO standards.
• Assist with food preparation, frying, stocking and customer orders.
• Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to grow sales and improve efficiency.
• Build a positive team culture through communication, accountability and leading by example.

What We're Looking For

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in grocery, deli, food service or retail.
• Someone who enjoys developing employees and building a strong team.
• A hands-on leader who isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed.
• Someone who takes initiative, thinks creatively and isn't afraid to try new things.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with inventory, ordering, scheduling and labor management.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain it.

Experience is important, but attitude, leadership and a willingness to make things better matter just as much.

Schedule & Compensation

• Full-time position.
• Approximately 40–50 hours per week.
• Rotating weekends, with every other weekend off.
• $22–$28 per hour, based on experience.
