Job Description

Job Description
Senior Emissions Compliance Test Engineer

Full-Time Direct Placement

From the first spark in the test cell to the final compliance report, you’ll own the journey. Join a well-established leader in emissions technologies and regulatory product approvals in a hands-on role where engines, data, and customer trust come together. If you enjoy taking projects from kickoff to delivery and getting your hands on hardware, this role is for you.

A Day in the Life

You arrive to a prepared test plan, validate instrument calibrations, and lead a CFR-compliant emissions run. Midday, you brief the customer on interim findings as the primary point of contact. In the afternoon, you troubleshoot a stubborn sensor drift, refine your data quality control checks, and mentor a junior engineer on best practices for test equipment calibration and safe engine setup. By day’s end, you’ve advanced performance testing, captured clean datasets, and charted tomorrow’s improvements.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan and execute CFR-compliant emissions and engine performance testing
  • Author test plans and manage data quality control, analysis, and reporting
  • Serve as the primary customer contact throughout test programs
  • Troubleshoot engines, vehicles, and lab equipment to resolve issues quickly
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and test-cell technicians
  • Oversee test equipment calibration and modify test instrumentation as needed
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Deep engine knowledge and mechanical aptitude
  • Emissions or engine testing experience (CFR 1065/1066/86 a strong plus)
  • Familiarity with Horiba MEXA analyzers (training provided)
  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and customer communication skills

Own projects end-to-end, grow your impact in regulatory approvals, and help advance cleaner, better-performing engines.
