Sheet Metal Worker - Full-time

Spartan Staffing is currently seeking experienced candidates for a Sheet Metal Worker in the Independence/Lees Summit, MO area. Our customer has been in business for over 60 years. This is a first shift position 7am-5pm M-F with a pay rate of $11-15 per hour. If you have sheet metal experience, can read blueprints and are mechanically inclined this may be the place for you!

Job Duties:

• Install assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, rain gutters, and down spouts, in supportive frameworks
• Select gauges and types of sheet metal or non-metallic material, according to product specifications
• Fasten seams and joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and bonds in order to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items, Secure metal roof panels in place, then interlock and fasten grooved panel edges.
• Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions. Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material, such as roofing panels, according to drawings or templates, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers.
• Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction and assembly of sheet metal products.

• Must have citical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Have good judgment to evaluate the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Must be mechanically inclined in order to maintain and perform equipment maintenance
• The ability to stand and walk during entire work shift.
• Have a solid work history and a positive attitude
• Be a self starter and able to work independently and as a team
