Overview:

The Starbucks Lead Associate supports the Starbucks Manager in running an efficient, professional, safe and profitable Starbucks operation following all company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follows and ensure team follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices.
  • During shift, provides leadership and directs associates in providing outstanding product and service.
  • Assist in accountability for sales, expenses and bottom-line profits.
  • Ensure team prepares and presents drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar and pastry products to Starbucks standards.
  • Follows Starbucks merchandising, product presentations and signing standards.
  • Ensure team meets speed of service standards.
  • Monitor food quality by completing daily a.m. and p.m. line checks.
  • Demonstrate a positive role model for Starbucks Simply Service Steps and Macy's STAR standards of customer service.
  • Support a strong working relationship with store management.
  • Provide on-going training, feedback, coaching and staff motivation to all associates to maximize team performance and satisfaction.
  • Maintain role model standards in grooming, professional appearance and communications.
  • Meet highest standards of workplace safety, sanitation, and equipment care as set by Health Department and company policy.
  • Utilize all Macy's and Food Division systems and tools.
  • Utilize forecasts, daily sales reports and weekly food cost and payroll reports to ensure monthly profit/loss goals are met.
  • Assist in preparation and production of all menu items.
  • Assist in ordering food, beverage, dry and paper goods based budget and needs of the business.
  • Assist in product receiving and following Receiving Best Practices.
  • Support food inventories following Best Practices to ensure they are taken on a timely and accurate basisensuring targeted food and liquor costs are maintained.
  • Work scheduled shifts as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Skill Summary:
  • Previous hospitality/food service/barista experience
  • Previous shift supervisory experience
  • Skill in working as part of a team
  • Exceptional communication and interactive skills
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and organizational skills
  • Experienced at training and motivating teams
  • Ability to use the POS terminal, ring sales accurately, and control flow of cash and record cash accurately
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Spanish communication preferred
  • Certification in sanitation and safe food handling practices
