This position will sit in our Pitney Bowes Software business unit, which provides global software solutions, data, and services to help customers gain greater competitive advantage and enhanced decision making abilities through an array of offerings in Communications Management, Customer Analytics and Location Intelligence. Pitney Bowes Software was created through key acquisitions of MapInfo, Group 1 and most recently Portrait Software. We are currently seeking a Statistical Analyst to assist with the statistical modeling responsibilities for the retail and financial services industries throughout North America. This position will be an integral part of our talented team, contributing valuable, data-driven insights to our clients via our Location Intelligence and Customer Analytic solutions. Our clients are some of the largest retail and financial services firms in North America. This position will be located in our Farmington Hills, MI location.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop complex sales forecasting models and various analytical solutions predominantly within the retail, restaurant, and financial services verticals for the North American Strategy & Analytics team.
  • Ability to identify/discern relationships through statistical techniques such as regression and correlation and interpret those results in a geo-spatial manner.
  • Assemble a variety of demographic sources, competitive data sets, lifestyle segmentation systems, and site-specific characteristics into creative client solutions.
  • Evaluate the reliability of source information and organize results into a form conducive to conducting analysis.
  • Assist in the production of reports and presentations for ad-hoc requests and client consulting projects.
  • Effectively communicate and document timelines, methodology, and results with client management and custom programming teams.

Qualification

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university in Geography, Statistics, Mathematics or other similar quantitative research field.
  • Proven experience working with complex data sources using various software tools, such as SAS, R, SPSS, SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in milestone-driven environment.
  • Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years' experience in quantitative research; or equivalent combination of advanced degree and business experience.
  • Experience with site selection methods is an asset.
  • Exposure to Consumer Behavior analytics.
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian census demographics.
