The ideal assistant department manager achieves results, supports company initiatives, and is committed to developing people to reach their goals. Responsibilities
  • Assist the department manager in teaching and coaching employees to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Help the department manager execute a business plan to achieve department service and volume goals
  • Teach team to act as fashion and product knowledge experts for the customer
  • Collaborate with the department manager to ensure the customer receives the best quality, value and selection of merchandise
  • Work with the department manager to ensure merchandising and presentation standards are met
  • Maintain regular floor presence
  • Assist the department manager in ensuring accurate inventory management

Qualifications
  • Track record of successful results, for example leader in customer service, strong productivity, etc.
  • Ability to develop a team
  • Ability to use key metrics to identify opportunities and drive volume
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with store partners
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, delegation and follow-through skills
