Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the accuracy of the consolidated financial statements while providing an adequate level of control to safeguard the assets of the business. This position will also oversee the submission of Manheim financials to our parent company, Cox Enterprises.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Oversight and control responsibilities for financial statement preparation, legal entity accounting, and monthly financial close processes.

2. Responsible for consolidation of all Manheim financial actual information for all 70 North American auctions plus auctions in Europe, Australia and other service type businesses. Ensure appropriate consolidation principles are applied in accordance with ASC Topic 810, Consolidation, including

· Intercompany processes and eliminations

· Investment accounting and eliminations

· ASC Topic 830, Foreign Currency Matters

3. Manage monthly closing process and completion of financial statements on a timely basis. Lead the improvements in the closing process and calendar management, working effectively with other parts of the accounting team to accelerate closing entries and streamline posting of transactions.

4. Ensures that controls are in place around the Oracle financial system such that all other accounting systems used to support financials are in balance. Set up standard reports in Essbase to analyze monthly results in order to test the accuracy of the financial information and to understand the fluctuations in the results on a monthly basis.

5. Direct the compilation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial statement accounts including account roll-forwards and detailed account level analysis to both ensure proper recording and classification of accounts and to provide analytic support to senior management and CEI Financial Reporting.

6. Researches and/or reviews analysis of unusual entries and/or entries or inter-company activity that do not balance. Reconciles/resolves majority of entries. Forwards most complex/sensitive issues appropriately with recommendations.

7. Meet with audit team to update progress and make sure their needs are being met. Assist in internal and external audits to ensure information being received is correct and done in a timely manner.

8. Serves as the technical advisor to the field and for any complex accounting related issues.

9. Works closely with CEI Financial Reporting and Tax Departments on actual financial results presented, any technical accounting issues and ensure the accuracy of the financial information used in the CEI tax provision and tax return is provided in a timely manner.

10. Responsible for all acquisition accounting entries required for any acquisitions and other accounting issues related to new businesses.

11. Responsible for sales and use tax filings and reporting.

12. Oversee1099-K and 1099-MISC filing process and TIN matching.

13. Oversee personal and real property tax filings.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. College degree required. Business, Accounting, or Finance degree preferred. MBA a plus.

2. Minimum 10 years of related work experience; prior management experience for 5+ years preferred.

3. Prior experience working with an ERP a must. Previous experience with Oracle and HFM is highly preferred.

4. Extensive computer experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Hyperion Essbase.

5. Strong communication skills and ability to quickly develop positive working relationships.

6. Able to maintain effectiveness in changing work environment and responsibilities.

7. Expert technical skills and a thorough understanding of GAAP.

8. Ability to work independently and proactively develop solutions with minimal guidance.
