POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer at Oakwood's Sunnyvale property, In this role you will ensure and maintain building maintenance, apartment maintenance and unit turnover to the satisfaction of company standards. The Maintenance Engineer will provide a comfortable and safe environment for occupants, excellent customer service and assistance in resident improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain economic usage of equipment

  • Complete resident work orders

  • Bring units to market ready quality

  • Complete necessary maintenance on move-in apartments

  • Complete work orders on all common areas and models

  • Assign housekeeper/painter to vacant units

  • Complete bi-monthly light inspections

  • Maintain property appearance

  • Perform and/or assist air conditioning/heating technician on work orders

  • Respond and be on call for emergency calls after hours

  • Ensure completion of monthly property checklist

  • Organize and order maintenance supplies

  • Maintain all kitchen and laundry supplies

  • Weld handrails, trash enclosures, and steps

  • Perform minor carpentry and plumbing work orders

  • Ensure safe working environment

  • Other duties as assigned

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • HVAC Certification preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

  • Must be able to read and write in English

  • Bilingual a plus
