General Job Summary

The Settlement Analyst’s responsibilities include receiving information from internal and external sources, reviewing pricing and other charges, and preparing invoices for sales, purchase and exchange transaction recording purposes. Other duties include preparing weekly reconciliation of third party statements to settlement data, responding to customer inquiries regarding transactions, filing, handling BOL requests, and marketing inventory reports .

Major Job Tasks

1. Answers mail and telephone inquiries regarding settlement issues .

2. Contacts counterparties in order to obtain or relay account information .

3. Processes daily transactions for counterparties .

4. Keeps records of invoices and supporting documents .

5. Researches pricing inquiries and performs sales credits & rebills .

6. Verifies accuracy of settlement data and revises any errors .

7. Communicates daily with supervisor and other co-workers to inform them of any issues or problems that arise .

8. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Skills to perform required tasks, such as organizing or proofing data, typing, sorting and distributing mail, or keeping logs.

2. Knowledge of department practices and procedures.

3. Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and computerized accounting systems.

4. Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, or divide for balancing or compiling figures.

5. Skills in operating office equipment, such as personal computer, calculator, facsimile, copy machine, and document shredder.

6. Written communication skill to compose letters, memos, and basic reports.

7. Oral communication skill to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.

8. Interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions.

9. Ability to read and understand documents such as procedure manuals, reports, and correspondence.

10. Ability to carry out detailed oral and written instructions.

11. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.

12. Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.

13. Ability to provide support to other employees by providing them with accurate information and responding to requests on a timely basis.

14. Ability to plan, schedule, and complete job tasks usually completed within one week.

15. Ability to identify, define, and solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

16. Ability to work effectively with general supervisory guidance.

17. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
