About this job
Reuters/Ipsos Election Results Program
Roving Election Agents
Watching results come in on the evening of Election Night is a traditional part of American elections – the anticipation while waiting for results, the thrill as numbers come in, the excitement as fortunes change through the night and the triumph when someone finally is announced the winner. We are going to be at the center of all that excitement by collecting and communicating what is happening as it is happening. The Reuters/Ipsos Election Results Program will collect live vote count data and we need help from people like you to make it happen.
Roving Election Agents are service-minded, with a strong service mentality and a “do what it takes” attitude. Election Agents are collaborative, team players. They are accountable by focusing on project objectives, exceed expectations, and are driven to succeed. They are flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to change. They will be responsible for confirming addresses with local election officials and traveling to two or more locations on election night to collect final vote count data. As part of the job they will introduce themselves to election officials, receive and record election results through the Reuters/Ipsos smartphone application, and – if necessary – stay until the counting is complete. For this reason Election Agents should live close to the count location and have their own reliable transportation. While time commitments will vary based on location, Roving Election Agents should expect to dedicate 8 hours, primarily on the night of the election and have access to a car which they will drive as part of the project duties.
