Summary:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in landscape installation
activities in areas such as parks and complexes, municipal properties and other areas by
performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Executes timely servicing and quality of enhancement/installation work projects such as
installations, irrigation, and tree trimming.
Plans landscaping tasks and instructs workers on enhancement/installation work projects to
ensure completion by proposed completion dates.
Schedules enhancement/installation work annual plantings, and irrigation work in an efficient
and effective manner.
Prospects and qualifies properties outside of the branch's maintenance base to evaluate all
revenue generating opportunities and designs enhancement proposals based on those finds.
Increases market share by achieving enhancement sales goals, proposal goals, and achieving
target enhancement sales and penetration rates.
Determines material purchase needs and ensures all material is procured for
enhancement/installation jobs on time and within budget to meet gross margin requirements.
Works closely with area manager and/or customer to schedule enhancement jobs appropriately
and within customer's time frame.
Ensures enhancement jobs are managed within budget to meet or exceed all required financial
performance metrics.
Assists Area Manager with extra work bid preparation and sales.
Delivers safety and technical training to workers weekly, monthly, or as needed/required.
Interprets policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work
crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists in solving work problems.
Prepares, reviews and approves daily payroll and production records.
Reviews and monitors equipment maintenance programs and upkeep of vehicles used to service
clients for designated jobs.
Reviews and manages any subcontractor work to be performed, if needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 3-5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 4-6 employees on installation
crews, and sometime maintenance. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and
evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises 10-30 non-supervisory employees. Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable
laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning,
and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one
year related horticultural experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability
to present enhancement proposals to customers with the ability to close the sale. Ability to read,
write, and speak English fluently. Depending on geographic location, ability to speak Spanish
may be required or desired.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, area and volume.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,
oral, or diagram form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current Driver's License.
Other certifications as required by state or federal law.
