Overview:

The Shipping Representative I performs various shipping and inventory responsibilities. The role uses available resources to meet shipping expectations, economically and profitability in a coworker friendly environment. The position assists the Distribution Services Manager (DSM) in meeting corporate and departmental goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn policies and procedures addressing shipping, stocking, metering, safety, code of conduct and training.
  • Provide daily feedback to shipping lead or Manager of shipping activities
  • Assist Shipping Representative III with the orientation and training of new coworkers to FedEx Office People, Service, Profit philosophy and FedEx Office Distribution Services (ODS) shipping policies and procedures.
  • Maintain stock in proper locations and provide feedback to Shipping Representative III
  • Learn new product information and be capable to identify system inaccuracies of system related data
  • Use technology solutions to pick orders with 99.8% accuracy
  • Provide feedback, ideas and suggestions for warehouse management system efficiency
  • Maintain equipment and company property (Housekeeping)
  • Attend daily operational meetings
  • Provide feedback and input for shipping issues
  • Load metered packages on trucks
  • Maintain safety standards and regulations set forth by OSHA, DOT, FXO’s Human Resources and local requirements
  • Perform daily cycle counts
  • Help with receiving as needed
  • Attend required training, i.e. fire safety, forklift training, new products, new equipment, etc
  • Help find new ways to reduce waste and recycle
  • All other duties as needed or required


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent educations
  • 1+ years general work experience
  • Distribution experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office application experience preferred
  • Experience working with computer software applications
  • General knowledge of inventory management systems and pick/pack operations.
  • Proven team player able to contribute to problem solving
  • For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful passing of background check
  • For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
