Cook / Chef - Full-time / Part-time

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour Location: Palo Alto, Ca Public Transportation: Free shuttle from Palo Alto Caltrain station to actual work site Shift: Day & Swing shifts available (must be flexible and able to work on-call/same day) Job Description *Preparation of a variety of cold and hot foods such as soups, stews, sauces, casseroles, entrees, side dishes, starches, gravies, salads, and desserts *Portion and prepare plates for presentation *Coordinates work of helpers and assistants *Orders supplies from storeroom as needed *Stores and records leftovers and discusses use with manager *Work as communicator with the supervisor in planning of menus *Ability to work well under pressure Key Qualifications *At least 3-5 years of solid work experience in preparing hot and cold meals in commercial kitchens *Previous experience cooking on Broilers, Fry, Sautee and Pantry Stations *Ability to prep ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service *Must be able to organize time and material in pressure situations *Be able to prepare a variety of standard menu item *Ability to stand for prolonged periods and able to work in hot climate in the kitchen with stoves, ovens, and grills Requirements: *Must be able to clear a seven (7) year Criminal Background Check *Must have food handling certificate *Must have own knife set *Provide excellent customer service *Maintain a flexible schedule (on-call and same day requests may be needed) *Always remain a team player
