POSITION PURPOSE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- The Inventory Analyst is responsible for partnering with a Merchant to develop and implement replenishment strategies that maximize sales and inventory productivity for a category.
- A typical category ranges between 5 to 10 million in weekly sales and 90 to 110 million in inventory. To maximize sales and inventory productivity it is critical that the analyst maintains the appropriate in-stock positions and allocates inventory in the most effective manner across both stores and skus.
- This position works closely with merchants, stores, transportation, distribution centers and suppliers.
- The Inventory Analyst is responsible for creating accurate SKU forecasts, managing parameters to execute the replenishment strategy, achieving target in-stock levels and planned inventory turns, and developing recommendations to improve inventory productivity.
- The Inventory Analyst is expected to field inventory product requests as well as other related questions from our store associates as well as field leadership and provide great customer service.
- This position participates on strategic process improvement initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness of the tools and processes utilized by the broader replenishment organization.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- 20% Build Store/DC SKU Forecast
- 20% Execution of replenishment strategy; review domestic and imports orders for accuracy, Build purchase order containerization, and track purchase orders.
- 20% Collaborate with functional partners to develop SKU maintenance with data management, demand planners to assist with the execution strategies
- 20% Set-up and maintain replenishment standards
- 20% On-board vendors onto centralized replenishment system
NATURE AND SCOPE
- Reports to Replenishment Manager
- No direct responsibility for supervising others.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eighteen years of age
- Must pass the Drug Test
- Must pass the Background Check
- Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree with an emphasis in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
- Advanced computer skills to retrieve, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data with experience with MS Office; MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project & statistical software.
- Strong quantitative skills - through knowledge of statistics and quantitative data analysis and interpretation
- Proficient in business process evaluation and procedure development; Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all tools, processes, methodologies and standards for requirements gathering, documentation and analysis.
Possibly required to work up to 10% on the weekends.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
- Solid understanding and use of statistical software to manipulate analyze and interpret data. Statistics / Mathematics / Quantitative analysis - Proficiency in Access, Excel, IBM and SQL / Queries.
- Teamwork - ability to work well with others from various departments and values the perspective team
members bring to a project. - Critical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions; ability to understandand foresee implications of new information for current and future problem solving.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to persuade or influence others.
- Strong ability to multitask and handle competing priorities at once.
- Strong self starter with ability to work with little supervision.
