The candidate will work as part of a dedicated IT operations support team with some development responsibilities. This team supports critical business and financial data warehousing applications.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • The candidate will be responsible for operational support including, but not limited to troubleshooting and driving to resolution any software problems and issues

  • In addition, as part of the team's innovation goals, the candidate will develop, utilize and maintain system/process documentation and reports

  • The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and effectively present technical issues to a non-technical audience. The person must be customer-focused with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment

  • The candidate will be working in an IT operations team utilizing the service management and service delivery principles defined by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) organization

  • Key service management activities include:

    • Incident Management

    • Problem Management

    • Change Management

    • Release Management

    • Configuration Management

  • Key service delivery activities include:

    • Proactively reviewing the state/status of the ADW/CDW databases

    • Ensure the services meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

    • Establish relationships with key stakeholders

  • The candidate will be responsible to follow and define Operations IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • They will also need to embrace our United Cultural values of; Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation and Performance.

 


 Availability during non-business hours will be required to support month end processing, software release activities and to resolve high priority production incidents.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • The candidate must have strong analytic and problem solving skills

  • The systems the candidate will support utilize the follows technologies:

    • ORACLE 10G and 12C

    • Unix Shell Scripting

    • Linux Operational support

    • Tivoli Work Scheduler (TWS)

    • Subversion (SVN) version control

  • 3+ years of experience with a UNIX/Linux operating system

  • 3+ years of experience with shell scripting 

  • 3+ years of Oracle SQL experience

  • Proficiency with PL/SQL packages and functions

 


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of working with Claims systems

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes
