Operations and Technical Base Coordinators are responsible for collecting, reporting, communicating and recording information including: operating hours and changes to operating hours, parade times, event and entertainment schedules, park capacity, hourly attendance counts, and down times. Supports Tech Base by answering, logging and dispatching calls to the appropriate technical trades.
Operations and Technical Base Coordinators at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
- Receiving incoming calls where data is collected, complied and updated through various IT and reporting systems to include: incoming trouble maintenance calls for rides, shows, merchandise locations, restaurants, food equipment, support buildings and any on-site facility.
- Communicating and dispatching the appropriate technical trade in response to non-emergency and emergency issues and monitors radio channels for Technical Services and Attraction Operations to ensure timely response. Generating work orders from trouble maintenance calls, tracks and reports response information.
- Compiling hourly report data and distributing operational statistical reports regarding park attendance, attraction statistics, downtimes, and park capacity to all level of the UO management team. Handling calls from team members calling the call in line, maintaining call logs in accordance to established attendance guidelines and reporting information to appropriate parties.
- Maintaining inventory of all communication devices. Responsible for the collection, distribution of radios, cell phones, pagers, Express Redemption Tablets, I-pads and venue keys. Providing operating instruction and troubleshooting equipment.
- Updating and maintaining management schedules, departmental phone listings, daily snapshots, team member reference guides, daily park news information sheet, information boards and provides information to team members and management at the service counter or via the telephone.
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of an Operations and Technical Base Coordinator successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Consistent attendance is a job requirement
- High school degree or GED is required
- 1-3 years clerical; customer service, computer experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Florida state driver’s license is required
- Perform simple computer tasks and pass the Internal Staffing tests for Word and Excel
- Typing speed of 25 wpm is required
- Microsoft Office 2007
- Customer Service, Organizational Skills, Clear Communication, and Flexibility

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:
- Regularly (2/3 of the time or more): Sit; talk; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; repeat motions more than twice per minute; repetition-using an input device-a keyboard or mouse-in a steady manner. Use of Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)and Close vision with or without corrective lens (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time): Hearing audible alarms, voice commands with background noise; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach, pull, push with hands and arms above and/or below head; lift up to 20 pounds with control; push up to 20 pounds with control. Use of Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point);Depth Perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships) and maintain concentration/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).
- Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less): Distance Vision with or without corrective lens. (clear vision at 20 feet or more); balance; stand; walk; climb stairs / ladders; work in small or tight spaces; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions).
