Quality Control Supervisor/Safety Supervisor

Summary:

A Quality control or safety supervisor must have at least five (5) years’ experience as a lead managing QC operations. Someone in this position must be able lead multiple employees. Has strong communication and mathematic skills. This person must operate within our Clients values, safety policy, quality policy and quality of work. This position is responsible for quality and reports directly to senior management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Someone in this position must be able to QC all necessary parts. Assist machine operators and welders with questions on dimensions, quality of material or finishes. They may need to work alongside with costumers to obtain quotes when outsourcing parts. This person must be comfortable leading safety meetings with entire shop and one-on-one with brake operators. They must be aware of all safety policies in place by Client to insure that all rules are being followed at all times. This person must conduct forklift operator training and be aware of OSHA safety concerning personal safety, machinery, forklifts, power tools, hand tools, and work areas. This person will attend weekly production meetings with Cell leaders and Senior Management and will be responsible with communicating all necessary information from those meetings back to the relative Cells / department. This person will be required to communicate with the Shop Manager and the Programmer, while managing other employees with efficiency, safety and quality. This person will also be required to report to senior management on performance on the quality management system and offer suggestions for improvement.

Job Requirements:

Someone in this position must be able to use calipers, tape measures, height gauges, micrometers, combination squares, etc. They must be able to read shop prints, understand basic welding symbols and determine flat layouts-reverse engineering. They must be able to work with customers, management, and shop personnel. C.D.L. computer skills, reliable transportation, and excellent attendance are all qualities that must be demonstrated to properly lead in the shop.



Education &/or Experience:

It is not required but preferred that someone in this position have a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Having worked in an ISO 9000 certified shop is a plus. It is required to have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a supervisor in a similar role.



Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic math skills and comprehension.





If operating a forklift, must have certifications on file with the office /supervisor in order to operate the forklift. C.D.L.
