Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Temp to Hire

Starting pay: $15 - $16/hour depending on experience



JOB SUMMARY:

The responsibilities below are intended to provide a general outline in meeting the expectations set for the Warehouse Associate position. The general job description includes all of the below but is no way limited to the specifics outlined. Of key significance is the ability to assist the overall team meet its objectives through proactive approaches and teamwork as well as meeting the individual goals and objectives set as described below:



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned.)

Operate multiple types of forklifts such as turret stock picker (TSP) and sit down electric lifts with high level of safety and proficiency

Take ownership of all customer incoming and outgoing freight activities.

Inspect every outbound shipment for accuracy to customer generated BOL for every detail. Any issues are elevated to warehouse manager and corrected prior to shipping

Perform checks of all incoming material to verify actual offload to POD and material arrival in good condition. Document and report any variance or damage prior to signing any POD

Ensure warehouse and production racks organized and maintained in accordance with housekeeping and customer grouping practices as in effect daily.

Pull & prepare warehouse sample requests to ensure proper DOT compliance, correct packaging used, and sample documented on appropriate database/file.

Verify every BOL and material received/shipped is correctly identified and torque in accordance with 49cfr requirements for DOT

Ensure all warehouse equipment is in proper working order, housekeeping is in line with company expectations and advise if any damage or defects identified to Warehouse Manager for correction/documentation

Have basic understanding of 49cfr requirements as pertains to storing/shipping/handling hazmat.

Maintain high level of accuracy on shipping and receiving activities to meet internal specified goals and objectives. Goals should always be to exceed 99.9% and improve from there.

Ensure all material pulled, staged, packed, consumed for or by production is properly verified prior to being moved to production or shipped

Eliminate extra or unnecessary steps in warehouse activities to ensure most efficient flow and storage of product. Offer suggestions for improvements

Be cross trained to provide Materials Manager or Tank farm for cycle counting, or excess assist with excess demand as work load dictates

Be primary person for any warehouse/distribution activities and able to assist in absence of manager

Ensure that all designated duties are performed in a timely manner.

Work closely with warehouse manager to ensure all production pick lists are staged correctly in designated area(s) in a timeframe that allows for production activities to be seamless.

Maintain daily shipping log to track carrier reliability and any notes that may be needed for future reference regarding each shipment as needed

Operate DEACOM to create and receive purchase orders for non-company owned materials, receive purchase orders for company owned materials, investigate minor inventory issues, close sales orders, and move materials as needed.

Utilize customer scanners to correctly manage inventory

Housekeeping -Keep warehouse and staging areas clean, organized, and painted as necessary to ensure smooth product flow and safe work environment

Safety -do more than simply follow safety procedures but look for ways to improve and demonstrate vigilance in ensuring safe work environment

Quality -Eliminate any/all outgoing/incoming errors and ensure production has all that is needed when needed by working closely with Warehouse manager, Production Manager, and Materials Manager

Forklifts -ensure all lifts are in proper working order by obtaining proper daily checklist and arranging service as approved.

Be indispensable -become part of the solution not an obstacle or roadblock to success. Look for anyway possible to grow value and increase profit. Ensure that actions result in positive reflection of self, team, and customers (not 1 or 2 of those 3 but all 3). Lead through actions and words, be involved in as much as possible and offer real solutions to complex problems.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent self-motivation and ownership mentality. Take initiative and exemplify follow through on all projects. Attention to detail and accuracy are required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Basic English

ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:

Good organizational skills required.



COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Professional demeanor with good verbal and written skills. Capable of managing ones time.



CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Fork lift certification required, 49cfr certified

OFFICE SKILLS:

Basic computer knowledge is necessary. DEACOM, SAP, & RF Scanners

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Employee will spend the day virtually exclusively in plant/warehouse settings.
