A successful Inventory Accounting Manager will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from four-year college or university; or 4+ years related experience and/or training; and four plus years of experience with at least 2 of those years spent in a management/supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Complex analytical skills, advanced organization and project completion skills. Strong communication skills: must be able to prepare formal documents to be presented to both internal senior management and external users
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects; broad knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of concepts and issues across functional lines
  • Must be able to effectively serve as company advocate: negotiate for the company and department, both orally and written
  • Strong consideration will be given to those with any combination of the following skills: Hyperion, Excel, Access and Oracle

The Inventory Accounting Manager will be responsible for providing operational and business support for Inventory tracking and valuation.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Contributes to the development of staff and assists team leader(s) in providing direction and leadership to assigned functional area
  • Effectively communicates with team members, managers, business partners, vendors, and field staff to obtain problem resolution, adding value to all interactions
  • Perform month-end closing activities. Assist in accurate and timely reporting of all Dish inventory
  • Monitor and evaluate inventory system issues and problems and work with IT to resolve
  • Develop Sox reporting and monitoring as related to assigned areas in inventory
  • Assist with implementation on inventory accounting systems and inventory control procedures
