Housekeeping Assistant - Full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Housekeeping Assistant
Department: Guest Services
Reports To: Director of Guest Services/Housekeeping Manager
Job Purpose:To fulfill our mission by cleaning and keeping clean and welcoming the inside and outside of all buildings at all times and to uphold, create, and organize systems that foster an enjoyable and efficient cleaning process for all types of rooms on the property.
Job Duties:
Assist in or take chief responsibility for the inventory, ordering, and management of all cleaning supplies, all linens, and all guest room and meeting room needs
Assist in or take chief responsibility for the cleanliness, upkeep, organization, and functionality of all cleaning rooms
Assist in or take chief responsibility for the pulling of trash from around camp and taking to the dump on a daily or multi daily basis
Assist in or take chief responsibility for the restocking, inventory, cleanliness, organization, and multi daily check offs of the two retail locations
Take chief responsibility for the laundry room at camp and ensuring the linens are done in a timely and efficient manner
Aid in handling of money in the retail locations
Largely responsible for being on call 24 hours a day while guests are on property, prepping and cleaning camp before and after every guest group is on property and managing the prep and clean when others are available to help(other staff, Walkabout students, etc)
Other Duties of ALL Camp Eagle Staff:
Camp Eagle operates year-round.We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year.Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity.Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed.There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The "ideal" candidate will have:
Educational equivalent of high school diploma and several years of college
Ability to relate to kid and adult guests in a professional and friendly manner
Ability to manage peers, CE full time staff, Walkabout students, and summer staff in a positive, respectful, healthy model when they are helping to clean
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, typing, basic math, basic computer functions, organization, and be detailed oriented
Willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines weekly and monthly for most tasks
Passion for cleaning, problem solving, fixing things, making things beautiful, leading by serving
Attitude of never-ending service, enthusiasm, taking initiative, willingness to learn, integrity, flexibility,
Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at Camp Eagle, TX
Travel: There will be some travel periodically for trainings
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in office, hike, stand all day, bend, squat, be on hands and knees cleaning all day, climb stairs, be around strong cleaning chemicals on a daily basis
Work Environment:
Will consistently work indoors and outdoors in summer, winter, and rainy weather
