Attention To Detail Job Description: We are looking for a payroll manager to work with our client in Crofton. They are a franchise owner of a large fast food chain for the maryland area. Their job duties will include:
- Process payroll for both hourly, salary and corporate staff
- Manage a staff of 4 people
o One person who is a payroll coordinator
o 3 payroll clerks
Clerks handle the hourly employee payroll
- Garnishments and wage verifications (clerks)
- One person who handles management payroll
- Handles corporate payroll
- Rolling out payroll process to the restaurants
- A lot of interactions with the restaurants
- Worked with Sage-"abra-pay"
o Working with delphia
o They have overlaid a program on top of sage
o Allows electronic forms to autopopulate into the database
o Similar to an HRMS system but not quite
- We pay be 4,000 and 4300 people
o MD, DC NOVA
- Also deal with people who live in other states that work in our jurisdiction
- They will handle payroll tax
o Deals with quarterly tax filings
o they make sure people's wages are reported in the appropriate quarter
Hours: 8-5 monday-friday
Additional Payroll Info:
Takes 10 days from when the payroll ends to generate paychecks for employees
- New info, terms, changes, new hires, entry to make sure that all labor flows into the system correctly
- Running exceptions reports
- Use a cash card for paying employees, dp, and paper checks
- Small portion of workforce gets a paper check Work Environment: They will work withing a corporate headquarters with about 40 employees. It is a very family oriented laid back environment. Qualifications: Will need to have previous experience managing a payroll team
- Will report to director of finance
- 5 years of experience managing payroll
o 5 years of payroll experience
- ADP would be really helpful
- Would take someone with sage experience
- Other softwares: paychex, sage, ADP
- Need someone who has supported a large volume of payroll
- Industry: retail world would translate well, restaurant world would help as well,
